The 2 times table is all about doubling. 2 × 6 is the same as 6 + 6, which makes 12. Most kids already know a lot of the 2 multiplication table from counting in twos, so it's a great second table to learn.

Times 2 is the same as adding a number to itself. 2 × 6 is 6 + 6 = 12. Every answer is an even number and ends in 0, 2, 4, 6 or 8.
Kids usually find 2 × 7 = 14 and 2 × 12 = 24 the hardest. Double 7 is 14, double 12 is 24.
