Every answer in the 5 times table ends in a 5 or a 0. Odd numbers give a 5 at the end, even numbers give a 0. Times 5 is also half of times 10: 5 × 8 is half of 80, so 40.
The ones to watch are 5 × 7 = 35, 5 × 9 = 45 and 5 × 12 = 60.
